The Fay W. Boozman College of Public Health
University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences
Little Rock, Arkansas

Greg Thompson Fine Art worked closely with the art committee for the Fay W. Boozman College of Public Health to help find an artist to create a painting for the college’s main public area. The college wanted a painting that symbolized healthy living, cultural diversity and the beauty of Arkansas’s public parks. Mark Blaney was commissioned to create Arkansas Summer, oil on canvas, 6 feet by 12 feet for the first floor depicting people leading healthy lifestyles and enjoying one of the many scenic parks in Arkansas.

A piece of hand crafted glass was also commissioned for the project and was underwritten by the Janet Jones Company in Little Rock as a commemorative piece for the opening of the new college. The piece was entitled Cranberry Nest and was created by glass artist April Wagner.
